GH’s Steve Bondsomeone to watchNEW YORK — Once in a blue moon on a daytime soap opera a new performer rises, a performer whose sheer, irresistible! uniquely personable presence and talent make a viewer sit up and, startled, take notice.‘‘General Hospital scored with such a performer when Tony Geary debuted. The show seems to have hit the mark again with Steve Bond, ^Ko portrays Jimmy Lee Holt, the illegitimate son of GH's own Daddy Warbucks, Edward QuartermaineBond is strikingly good-looking, with a set of baby blues that could melt an iceberg He's reminiscent of several other actors, including Paul Newman and Tom Berenger (whatever happened to him after he played Timmy Siegel in ‘‘One Life to Live and the killer in \‘Looking For Mr Goodbar?) But Bond has his own style. He's impish, coun-try-boy charming, yet willful He beguiles without force or strain. Unlike most soap camera neophytes, he has a poised manner and an unawkward drive He's utterly magnetic and seductive.Born in Haifa, Israel, Bond began his acting career while a Los Angeles grade-schooler playing the co-title role in the feature, ‘‘Tarzan and the Jungle Boy He played Kirk Douglas's character as a youngster in the film.
