The magazines I read never have much about her or her family. So could you please tell me a little about her? -Amberly Mouser, Rector, Ark.Dear Reader: For the most part. Barrett likes to keep her family separate from her career, but she has done a few layouts for magazines with her children.The actress is married to musician Stanley John Mitchell. They have two daughters, Anna, 7, and Julia, 2.Barrett was bom and raised in New York City, and decided to become an actress at age 10 when she saw a production of ”Man of La Mancha.** Throughout her school years, she participated in several productions. She received a bachelor’s degree in theater from Hunter College Her First big break came during her first ye«r at Hunter, when she was cast as the maid in “The Miser. an off-off-Broadway play in a church basement.After college, and while supporting herself as a bartender, Barrett starred in several more off-off-Broadway plays. She says her favorite play to perform is Godspeil While starring in “Lautrec, a play written by fellow “AW cast mate the late Brent Collins, she was cast on the Turner Broadcasting serial The Cad ins.”Barrett appeared on the serial from 1984 to 1985 as the tempestuous Jacqut McCormick She then went on to work on several other New York-based daytime programs, including “As the World Turns’ and “Ryan’s Hope ” She made her Film debut in 1981 in the criticallyacclaimed “Mission Hill.The actress joined AW in April 1989, creating the role of an off-beat private investigator, Frankie Frame The character is the niece of Sharlene Frame (Anna Holbrook).
