Cabinet members will keep headsdespite NovAtel findingsGettyEDMONTON (CP) — Heads won’t roll in the Alberta cabinet over the NovAtel affair, Premier Don Getty says.Getty announced that Technology Minister Fred Stewart would keep his job following an auditor general’s report on the cellular phone company’s losses, “I’ve already talked to him (Stewart),” Getty said Tuesday, “I told him there’s nothing in the report that would lead to his resignation.”The government announced in May it had sold NovAtel at a loss of $566.5 million to taxpayers. In the report, Salmon raised that figure to $614 million, including some $4.6 million owed by two newly bankrupt New York firms. The report spread the blame among NovAtel’s managers and board, the AGT Commission and the Alberta cabinet, Salmon said Tuesday.
