Fireman Carl ImbcChief AppointmentAppointment of City Fircmnn Curl Imber as chief of the Del-phos Firc Department is slated sometime within the next thirty days by Mayor Howard E. Ditto. Mayor Ditto reported today that he is accepting the certification for the fire chief appointment r.f: submitted by the local Civil Service Commission and received Monday via U. S. Mail. The Commission certified both Fircmnn Imber and Fircmnn Haul Clinger, the only ones of the eligible four firemen taking the firyi chief exams Friday evening.StatP sstatutqs provide that the highest scorer must be appointed to tlie post and that in Imber. Imber scored 91.00 whilelClinker’s score was 91.33. Law al^o provides that the Mayor has 30 days to make the appointment.Fireman Imber has been 11 regular member of the local fire department for a period of 13-yean; and previous to 1940 served as a member pf the voluntec* fire department from 1924.Recently the local Volunteer Firemen’s Association named Paul StaJlkamp, veteran member of the volunteer department, ;.s chief of the volunteers. He hasserved as assistant chief of the Xfre department for a number of years. Albert Kiwnan was elected assistant chief and Red Wioginjg was named foreman.Donald Dilt0 is secretary of the volunteer department.
