Shipping VegetablesFrom Fairview Dist.To Dried-out AreaFairview. Sept. 25.—Plans are fully launched for the loading of a -car of vegetables, and perhaps two -cars, for the dried-out areas of central and southern Alberta.On Sunday, September 23, committees were organized at the United Church services at Van-rena, Waterhole and Englewood, which will be responsible for the -districts of Vanrena, Waterhole, Dunvegan, Green Island, Englewood, Scotswood, Gage and Bearer Ridge.The committee have obtained the co-operation of Father Schwe-bius, at the Catholic Mission; Miss G. Kennedy, of Red Star school; Miss Freeman, of Erin Lodge school, also F. A. Little and J.Murray, of Bluesky, in getting the project organized and the vegetables delivered.On Monday evening a number of business men met at R. McKenzie's office to lay definite plansfor the securing of cars and making the shipment. The details of the loading and shipping were placed in charge of Mr. McKenzie and Rev. J. E. Kirk, with a number of business men volunteering to take their turn at loading the vegetables on the shipping days.It has been arranged to have the cars spotted at the loading platform Thursday morning, Sept. 27th, with the hope that as many vegetables as possible will be brought in Thursday and Friday. If necessary, however, loading will continue until Wednesday -evening, October 3rd.
