J. H. Kimberlin, of McCorrisville, and John W. Thompson, of Fishers Switch, were in attendance, being members of this regiment. They are amoug the few survivors of the iil fated steam boat Sultana that exploded and sank in the Mississippi while bringing home at the close of the war a large number of happy discharged soldiers. But few escaped. Mr. Thompson floated ten hours before reaching land.
