Celebrated Their Golden Anniversary.On the 19th of September, 1850, William A. McRae and Rhoda Shuck were united in marriage, five miles east of Corydon. In those days the infares were celebrated as much as the wedding ceremony. After the marriage of this couple they proceeded seven miles distant to the infare. A great party accompanied them. Not less than eighty persous, all on horseback, preceded by the father and mother of the bride, went to the so-called in fare. Mr. and Mrs. McRae located in the neighborhood where they now reside, —Webster township—and have never, since their marriage, resided elsewhere. On the 18th instant, this good couple celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage. Some two hundred people were present, and a most enjoyable time was experienced. The old coupleiwere the recipients of many presents, as testimonials of the respect held by their numerous friends. Among the presents were forty dollars in gold. Of the six children born to Mr. and Mrs. McRae, during their union five were present. Among those present from a distance and participating in the celebration, were Geo. W. Yenner and family, of Nebraska, Mahala Zimmerman, of Kansas, William and Walter McRae, of Posey county, Mollie Shuck, of Kansas, Charles Friedley and wife, of Kansas, and Grant, . • * • . *v *Shuck and wife, of New Albany.
