The Indians in Canada.—The Toronto Globepublishes a despatch, dated “ Winnipeg, Sept. 2,” which says that, according to news from Qu’Appelle, there has been difficulty with the Indians. The starving savages became furious, and three of the chiefs were arrested by the mounted police as hostages for their good behaviour. This made the trouble worse, and ;he Indians informed the police that if any attempts were made to remove the prisoners they would take prompt revenge on them. All the chiefs were subsequently released. Trouble is also reported from Fort Ellice, but it will probably have blown overnow.
