Dedications to Honor PioneersA pioneer El Paso teacher, Mrs. W. D. Howe, and former president of El Paso Woman's Club, Mrs. Julius LOrCntzen, will be honored guests when the State National Bank dedicates bronze plaques to the Woman’s Club and to the first kindergarten in Texas at 11:30a.m. next Wednesday in Pioneer PJaza.Mrs. Howe, wife of former District Judge W. D. Howe. was Shelton. She became the second an early graduate of Central School. In 1894 as Miss Marie Shelton. She became the second tachcr in the kindergarten, which was founded in 1892 by the Woman’s Club.Mrs. Lorentzen was enrolled in the first -kindergarten class . in 1R92.The Woman's Club of El Paso was an outgrowth ol the Study Circle of 1889, which became the Current Topics Club when formally organized in May, 1894, in the home of Mrs. W.
