4B/The Grapevine Sun/Sunday, September 25, 1988Mr. and Mrs. McCutcheonCouple celebrates 50th anniversaryKathleen Coulson and Vernon E. “Cotton” McCutcheon will be honored by their children with a reception on Sunday, Oct. 2, in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary.The reception will be held at theGrapevine Convention Center, and it will last from 2 to 4 p.m.Mr. and Mrs. McCutcheon were married on Oct. 2,1938 by the Rev. Ray Clendinan in the parsonage of the First United Methodist Church of Houston. At first, they made their home in Dallas, and later moved to Irving. In 1952 they moved to Collevville.wMr. McCutcheon worked for Kroehler Manufacturing Company until 1960, when he started apoultry business. In 1965 he opened McCutcheon's Nursery, stocking and raising plants. He retired in 1980.Mrs. McCutcheon worked for Braniff Airways. She retired in 1976 and assisted her husband in the nursery business. In 1980 they moved to Texoma.The McCutcheons have two sons: Dale of Plano and Glen of Grapevine, and two daughters given to them by marriage, Jackie and Becky. They also have three grandchildren: Michael, Patty De Anna.Friends of the family of the couple are invited to attend the celebration.
