c9. drive to see some of the interesting parts in \ San Diego. We drove through the campus of San Diego University situated on high ground with its imposing buildings and visited the nice church with its beautiful stained windows. From this high point, we also got a good view of the city. In the evening, the Compton family took us to a nice eating place and we had a good dinner of fish. We left San Diego Saturday morning, July 25 at 7:20 a.m. and arrived in Los Angeles at 10:30 a.m. We located a cabin and Dennis called his uncle Herman Klaus. He asked us out to dinner and wc had a nice visit with him and Mrs. Klaus and a son. Mr. Klaus is an Ellis County product and still has many relatives here.Edgar BrungardtThe death of Edgar F. Brungardt at the age of 62 is a great loss to Victoria and Ellis County. He was President of the Farmers National Bank at Victoria and served his community long and well, He knew the problems of his community and was concerned about the best solution for all concerned.His death is deeply mourned by those who knew him. He was a key man in his community f interested in the progress and welfare, not only of Victoria and Ellis County, but in all the surrounding area.He was a member of St. Anthony Hospital Lay Advisory Board, and also of St. Anthony Hospital Building Foundation, and a leading promoter of the Old Age Home in Victoria. He has been a life-long member of St, Fidelis Church and a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.We extend sincere condolences to the members of his family and to his many friends.'
