W. H. Cree, Leading Lawyer, DiesLow_William Harold Cree, 57, among Long Beach's moat prominent attorneys, died in his sleep Wednesday at his home, 4256 Pacific Ave., alter a brief illness.Service will be at 1 p. m. Saturday in Mottell’s ChapeL Interment will be at the family plot at Oak Park Cemetery, Claremont ,Dr. Stuart Leroy Anderson will officiate.Mr. Cree. who was in partnership with John W. Brooks with offices in the Security Bank Bldg. was credited with taking many cases involving oil properties to high courts where decisions were reached having wide effect in the industry.SOUTH DAKOTA NATIVEBom in Miller, S. D.f Mr. Cree came to Long Beach in 1907 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira J. .Cree. He attended Poly High School and was graduated from Claremont High. He also gradu-ated from Pomona College and the University of California Law School, receiving a dfegree of doctor of jurisprudence from the latter.During World War I, Mr. Cree was commissioned an ensign at the Annapolis Naval Academy and served in the submarine service.After the war, he became a member of the law' firm of Underwood, Burke and Cree.
