COUPLE MARRIED FOR FIFTY YEARSLeahy* Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary SaturdayOn Saturday morning, Sept. 20. at 8:30 in St. Patricks Catholic church, hpgan the celebration of the golden wedding of Mr, and Mrs, Will Leahy with a nuptial high mass with nearly all their children, families and a large number of relatives and friends present. Rev. F. W. Doyle performed the ceremony.Mrs. Annie Otte, bridesmaid of 50 years ago, was present. Dave Leahy, who was best man. ts now deceased. His place was filled by Con Ryan. The late Rev. Edmund Hayes performed the ceremony 50 years ago in St. Patricks church so they have Bpent their entire married life in this community.To this union 12 children were born and all grew to manhood and womanhood, but later two passed away, Louis and Irene (Mrs. Authony Saner).Paul, who is in Camp Forrest, Tenn., was the only child unable to be present. The other children are Arthur Alton, John George and Ed of Imogenoj Joe of Omaha, Evelyn (Mrs. Leland McGar-glU) of Shenandoah, Ellen (Mrs. Frank Sweeney) of Conway, and Mary (now Sister Margotto) of Rosary college near Chicago.At 1 p. m. the bride and bridegroom, attendautB, Rev. F, W. Doyle and the Immediate family and several sisters and brothers of the bridal parties and Miss Alice O'Brien went to Katie's Kupboard near Shenandoah where a four-course dinner was served. The table was beautifully decorated in gold and white. A large wedding cake, trimmed In gold, was the centerpiece.On Sunday, between 1 and 5 p. m. open house was held at their farm home two miles southwest of Imogene where over 100 relatives, friends and neighbors called to extend their congratulations Dd best wishes.Mr. and Mrs. Leahy received many beautiful gifts as a remembrance of the occasion as well as a large number of cards and letters.Among those from a distance utleuding were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Leahy and son, Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Annie Oett, Mr. and Mrs. Louise Otte, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Otte, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Otte of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Frauk Sjveeney of Conway, Sister Margotto' of Chicago, Mrs. Earl Davenport and John Dempsey of Crescent, Mr. and Mrs, Leland McGargill, Mr, and Mrs. Vincent Saner.
