S- Patterson, pastor of the ' i Lutheran church, contrasted in an in-,teresting manner the modern school,;| with its splendid educational facili- |ties, wiiii the schools of years ago. j He dwelt on the advantages offered | [these days for acquiring an education !'and urged community co-operation in | the way of providing still greater op-jponunities. His remarks were in-• spiring; anri elicited keen interest, j Speaks On School improvement, i ‘Waiter C. LeG-ore delivered a shortaddress on “School improvement.’' He also recommended community cooperation and referred to results chat can be obtained through co-operation and collective work rather than by individual effort. He brought out the social service side of school work andurged that too community in general take an interest in promoting the cause of education.[Following his remarks a committee composed of C. C-. Barrick. Luther C. Powell and Charles J. F. Miller* was appointed to solicit contributions for a cement walk in front of the school building. The committee will call on citizens; of the town in the interest of this improvement and the hope was expressed that liberal response will be forthcoming. It was pointed out ifcat a sidewalk is not only very much needed, bur will greatly improve the appearance of the building. Miss Ethel Fogle, principal of The school, in a few remarks of general interest, closed the even-inars pro cram.
