Public ServantsionsFive agenciet in Robeson coon* ty, which devote their entire effort! to protection to the public, have been given formal recognition by Lumberton Lions club.A resolution adopted by the Lions and, signed by their president,* Carlyle Biggs, brought special recognition to Lumberton Police department, Lumberton Fire department, Robeson County Sheriff's department, Robeson County Rescue Squad, and the State Highway Patrol.The Lions noted that these organizations have received very little public recognition and expressed appreciation for theirservice, to the' community. Thecitation noted that they “render•§a valuable service to the citizens of Lumberton and Robeson county, performing their duties in the highest . tradition regardless ofperils and hardships involved. . . as they go about their job in making this community a safer and better place to live.. 'The unanimously adopted resolution was forwarded with a let-, ter to Police Chief-W. M. Harris, Fire Chief E. J. Glover, Sheriff Malcolm McLeod, Patrol Sgt, G. IX Dodson, and Rescue Chief Hicks Bailey.The letter also contained an invitation to attend a fish fry Thursday night at Carolina Power and Light company picnic area.
