Mtaping.—The Appeal, of the20th, says:The shipments of cotton yesterday included 720 bales, of which the Nebraska took over 320 bales for New Orleans, and the J. Ii. Dickey 400 bales for St. Louis.The Capitol, bound down, is aground at Greenville, Miss.1 he TennesseelBelle arrived last evening from White river with a light trip of passengers and freight, embracing 9 bales cotton The Belie reports 7 feet water in White river and falling.The Nebraska left on her first trip for New Orleans last evening, well freighted and having a number of passengers. She took a barge in tow, as an assuranceagainst getting aground.The hugt stern wheeler Adriatic, sunk about ten days since at Dismal Point, passed up yesterday.The Maria Denning, bound down, got aground at head of Presidtnt’s Island yesterday, and remained ia that condition about an hour.Capt. Geo. W. Triplett, late commander of the Southerner, was a passenger to this city yesterday by the Moses McLellan. Capt. T. has made a contract to build a new* boat for the Memphis and Louisville trade, having resigned the command of the Southerner.During the prevalence of the storm Sunday evening, a set of railroad tracks, with a platform car attached, was blown from its position on the landing, and driven into the river so far as to be past recovery. The car was new, and was intended for the Mississippi, Ouachitak Bed River Railroad, and was to be shipped by the Kate Frisbee to-day. As the boat had received the freight, she will perhaps be liable for the loss.The Gladiator from New Orleans passed up yesterday with a fine trip.
