Hosiers Celebrate 64th AnniversarySEDONA — Samuel L. and Martha Hosier of Roadrunner Lane. Sedona. celebrated I heir G4th wedding anniversary on Sept. 14. She will be 84 in December, and he will be SO in October.Mrs. Hosier was born on a farm at Cunesvilie. Ohio, and he i3 a native of Manheim. Pa. He first came Id Arizona in 190fi as an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad al Winslow She traveled to Arizona with her father in 1903 for the first time, met her husband-to-be at Winslow two years later on another such trip. The Hosiers were married Sept. 14, 1910 at Coshocton, Ohio, lived at Winslow from 1910 to 1915. Ihen relumed lo Ohio, where they raised their two children.The family came lo Arizona to slay in 1942. Sair. was employed by the Arizona Power Co . now Arizona Public Service, from 1942 until his reliremenl on Jan. 1,1952 The senior Hosiers lived first at the Childs Pnwer Plant, laler al Garkdale.They bought their Sedona home near Brewer Road shortly hefore his retirement.“It was way out in the country t'nen. and Charlie Brewer and his wife still lived up on thn hill. they recall, Icoking at the now ihirkly settled area.Hosier set himself up in the business of repairing electrical appliances, and he still does some work of thi3 sort.The couple s son Udyth G.. is. like his lather before him, anengineer for the Santa Fe at Winslow.
