*Rev. W. M. Moore, pastor of the Sec-' ond Baptist Church, colored, is making an eiiort to build n new and much needed house of worship on East LaFayette street. His congregation is small and unable to build without aid. lie will call on the citizens generally, white and , black, and especially the members of jother churches of all denominations for donations. The enterprise i- a worthy one, and we hope all who can will help.When the livery aud feed stable was erected on the corner of Bank and Vine streets, we inveighed against it with might and main, and, saying that it was an unsightly and unsafe building, made of scraps or iron, tin and refuse lumber. Xow, another stable and hotel combined has been established at the corner of\ ine and Railroad streets, which, in comparison with the other one mentioned, is an eye-sore and a menace to the safety of propeitv near to it.
