NewsFromPEMBROKE — Mr. and Mrs. John Allen Locklear of Pontiac, jviich. where they had made Jheir home for the past 23 years, )and Mr. Locklear was employed )with the .Fontiac: Motor Company from which he retired in May, 1976, moved Labor Day weekend to their home located near the Methodist Church of Pembroke.Mrs. Eula P. Strickland, of McColl, S.C. visited Sunday in the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry F. Smith and children. Mrs. Strickland along with Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Tony Jones, Mrs. Hilda Faye Hunt and Miss Leslie Smith attended a song service held Sunday at the Church of God Tabernacle.FAMILY REUNIONThe descendants of the late Amos Woodell, ’ and Nancy Oxendine Woodell held their first family reunion September .4 at the Union Chapel Community building approximately 400 persons were present. The Rev. Semion Cummings of Raleigh gave a short talk and offered prayer at the mid-day meal. Served buffet .'style from tables consisting of 'meats fresh vegetables soft drinks Salads and deserts. Relatives attended from New [York, Pennsylvania, NewJersey, Michigan, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina and different parts of North Carolina. This was the first time in 25 years. Some of the family had been together.Mrs. Naomi Hammonds andher brother Herbert Lowry of Pembroke and their sister Mrs. Helen Smith of Raleigh, have returned to their homes after spending the Labor Day . Holidays visiting with another brother of theirs; Mr. and Mrs. Carson Lowry and family of Evansville, Indiana. They also spent some time in Nashville, Tenn. Where they toured places of interest including Opry Land, The New Grand Ole Opry Building; and the Grand Ole Opry Hall of Fame. Mrs. Hammonds reports that the live music and films with the beautiful landscape was fun. Tommy Sands, singing artist was traveling on the same flight as they and gave both Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Hammonds his autograph.Weekend guests in the home of Mrs. Lizzie Locklear were her sons and^heir families Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Locklear, and Mr. and Mrs. S.J. Locklear of Norfolk, Va. and Holland Locklear of Greensboro.Holland has been in
