AnniversariesMr. and Mrs. Pierre LapointGROVES — Mr. and Mrs. Pierre LaPoint will be honored with a reception from noon until 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 3749 Lincoln Ave., in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary.Hosts will be Kathren Boyd of Lake Charles, La., Donna Hindsman of Livingston, Leslie LaPoint of Kirbyville, Lisa LaPoint of Kirbyville, Leah LaPoint of Kirbyville, Mary Hanks of Port Arthur and Nancy Hanks of Port Arthur.The couple has four sons, Irving LaPoint of Lake Charles, Eugene LaPoint of Livingston,Emery LaPoint of San Antonio and Chester LaPoint of Kirbyville. They also have 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.The couple were married Sept. 13, 1936 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau, La. LaPoint isretired following 21 years of service in the maintenance department of the Port ArthurIndependent School District. His wife is retired after 20 years of service as a custodian with the PAISD. The couple resides inGroves.
