ANNIVERSARIESLyle and Margaret MauermannLyle and Margaret MauermannLyle and Margaret Mauermann of Centralia celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 12.Margaret Breckenridge and Lyle Mauermann were married Sept. 12, 1940, in Centralia.He is a Centralia native, while she and her family moved to the Galvin area from North Dakota when she was a sophomore in high school. Both are 1937 graduates of Centralia High School.He worked in logging and at the Weyerhaeuser Mill in Longview before being called for duty in World War 11. After his tour of duty, he returned to the Longview mill. He later moved back to Centralia, where he served as a police officer for 25 years, retiring from the department in 1972 as a sergeant. He was then employed by the Centralia School District for nine years as a bus driver and maintenance worker before retiring a second time.First a homemaker, she later worked for 14 years for the Centralia Elks Lodge, which merged with the Chehalis Elks Lodge during her employment.The Mauermanns’ three childrenand their spouses are Roger Mauermann of Grapevine, Texas; Margie and Mike Swanson of Spokane and Gerrie and Don Toepelt of Doty.The couple have six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.The Mauermann family will have a potluck picnic for family and friends at noon Sept. 24 at the Lincoln Creek Grange. Everyone iswelcome.
