Christ Episcopal church was the scene of a very pretty christening last Sunday evening, when the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Phelps was sealed with the sign of the cross and made a child of God in the strictest sense. Kev. D. C. Garrett, of St. Mark's church, Seattle, uncle of the infant, performed the solemn and touching rite, and Miss Jessie Schramm, Jackson Garrett and Mr. E. S. Phelps stood as sponsors, the latter for Mauro Garrett.of Chicago, who was unable to be present at the christening and for whom little Mauro Garrett Phelps was named. A large number of friends were present at the chris-ening and many admiring glances and congratulations received by tho parents and baby, the latter with the dew of his consecration glistening on his brow.
