Such is the distinction of Mr. and Mrs. George Biemensnider, Sr., of Hinckley.They were married on August 26,1866. Mr. Biemensnider was born inGermany, August 10, 1844. His father came to America in 1853, and sent for his family a year later when George was ten years old. They settled at Torkville. Mrs. Biemensnider was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hartman and was bom February 19, 1844, in Germany. She came to America when ten years old, settling in Sandwich, HI.In due time these two people met and decided to go through life together. The first five years of their married lifewas Bpent at Somonauk and Sandwich, but since 1871 they have lived in the vicinity of Hinckley. They are well known here and highly respected. It is not true always that the good die young. Mr. Biemensnider is 82 and his good wife is almost 82 years of age Their health is good a .'id everybody hopes that they may pass (heir sixtieth wedding anniversary by a good many years.On Sunday afternoon, August 29, 1926, their children, with the exception of Mrs. David GloecknerJ were all at their home to celebrate with them. A splendid dinner was served, after which a short program was carried out. Warren Landers, a son-in-law, wrote a poem dedicated to the occasion which was read by one of the grand 'laughters. This poem is remarkable because of the detailed manner in which everything is described which pertains to the lives of these two people.Bev. Mr. Schemmer, pastor of St. Paul’s Evangelical church, spoke a few words appropriate to the occasion. After 2 o’clock many friends dropped in to extend their best wishes. Besides the sons and daughters present there were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spamer of Chicago, Mrs. John Weiss of Aurora, a sister of Mrs. Biemensnider; a brother, Henry Hartman and his wife and Bev. and Mrs. Schemmer.Above is a picture of this remarkable family.
