Barnhardts Are HonoredMr. and Mrs. Roy Bernard Barnhardt Sr. were given a 50th wedding anniversary reception on Oct. 4 at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. Hosts were their children and their mates, including Mr. and Mrs. Roy B. Barnhardt Jr. of Hickory; Ms. Margaret Sloop, Ms. Louise Moser and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Herndon of Kannapolis.Receiving with Mr. and Mrs. Barnhardt and their children were their grandchildren: Mr. and Mrs. Jason Barnhardt of Hickory, Kim and Steven Sloop, Jamie Moser and Bryan Gulledge of Kannapolis.Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foil of Kannapolis greeted guests at the door and Miss Karen Foil of Winston-Salem attended the guest register.Serving punch from a gold flowing fountian, cake, mints, nuts and cheese straws were Mrs. Tom Morris and Mrs. Richard Brown of Concord and Mrs. Hope Earnhardt of Kannapolis, nieces of the couple.Also helping with the serving were Robin Wilhite and Mrs. April Barr and Stevie of Kannapolis.Altar flowers with gold accents, presented by Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Barnhardt of Kannapolis for the morning church service, were also used at the reception along with other fresh cut flowers and greenery.Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Overcash of Kannapolis said the goodbyes to the 300 guests who attended from here, Charlotte, Concord, Hiddenite, Mooresville, Harrisburg, China Grove, Salisbury, Winston-Salem, Hickory and Rockwell, N. C . and Sarasota. Fla.
