John Howard.The death occurred Saturday ofJohn Howard, 70, who came west about 30 years ago. He was born May 5, 1865 in Harlan county, Kentucky. Death followed a stroke,sustained Thursday morning of lastweek. Twelve sons and daughters survive, in addition to the widow,who makes her home in Californiawith relatives. The list follows: Mrs. John Strum, Vader; Mrs. Dolly O’Mara, Chehalis; Mrs. Grace Geddes, Jesse, William, Elizabeth, Ed, George, Sam, Sarah, Frances andMrs. Martha Armstrong all of California; 8 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren. Mr. Howard was a member of the Methodist church 30 years. Funeral arrangements are pending arrival of a son, William, who is in the tT. S. Army at The Presidio.
