Indiana Annual ReunionOfficers Elected and Seymour Chosen as the Next Meeting Place.Long Death List Reported—Distant Comrades Heard from by Letterand|Card.The 82d Indiana Regimental Association met in 38th annual re union at the city hall yesterday afternoon,Sept. 13, 1916, at 2 o’clock. In honor of the occasion the building washandsomely decorated in bunting, the faithful work of Janitor Daniel Lowndes, who served in a colored regiment during the great civil struggle of the nation.The meeting was called to order by the president, Comrade H. H. Kirk; John F. Hammell, secretary.Following the able welcoming address by the mayor of Madison, Hon. James E. James E. Crozier, mayor of Madison, the city officials, for the use of the city hall, the newspapers for their courtesy in opening their columns to the use of the association and to Comrade Daniel Lowndes, city hall janitor and veteran of a colored regiment, for decorating the hall for the meeting.The session then adjourned to meet at 7:30 o’clock in the evening at the city hall for the annual campfire.II. EL SautantaObituary.John Davis, son of the late Beach-man and Elizabeth Davis, died at his home in Saluda township, on September 10, after an illness of many months.The deceased was 73 years of age May 1st and had lived all of his life in Saluda.Mr. Davis became a member of the Baptist church in 1860 and was always faithful to his religious obliga tions. He bore his sufferings witl: fortitude of a true Christian and has now passed to his reward.The decedent was married to Caroline Baker on August 27, 1860. T( this union eight children were born,three of whom have gone before.Mr. Davis had every care and attention that his relatives and friendscould bestow upon him, but it waithe Master’s wish that he leave thiiworld.He leaves to mourn his death threlt; sisters, two brothers, a wife and fivt children, as follows: “’Marion am Arthur, of Illinois; Mrs. Cary Daw son, Mrs. Anna Gray and Mrs. Elk Crim. He is also survived by twelvi grandchildren, nieces and nephew: and a host of friends.The bereaved family has the sym pathy of a large circle of friends.The funeral services took place a New Bethel|Church on Monday even ing. Rev. B. W. Noell had charge of the services.
