Raymond Donald Don MappDon Mapp, 84, of Hidaway on the Gulf, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012. He was born on September 16, 1927, in Duluth, Minnesota.Don graduated from the University of Houston and was a very proud veteran of the U. S. Navy. He had a long career with the Houston Post. He later became a law enforcement officer in Texas and a crime scene specialist in Florida. Upon retiring back to Texas, Don served as a Bailiff for Brazoria County. He was an avid outdoorsman and well-respected hunter and fisherman. Don was a 50-year Master Mason Lodge No. 1 in Houston and a 32nd Degree Shriner.He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Estelle Mapp.Don is survived by his wife of 40 years, Genie Mapp; sons, Greg, Chris, Jack, Paul and Tommy; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to G.C.C.A. in Don's memory.§IBQW)•FUNKRAI.
