Mrs. Mary Oath, the aged and respected mother of Charles W. Gath’ the well known undertaker, died at her home in Oxford, at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, in her 81st year. She had been in failing health for the past year and the end came peacefully and quietly. The sleep of death came to her after a long life of usefulness—a life well worthy of Imitation.Mrs. Gath was barn in England, October 16, 1820. In 1841 she was united in marriage with Samuel Gath and the foil wlng year, 1842, they came to the United States, locating on a farm in Oxford township. Mr. Oath be* came a farmer but he did not continue in this occupation long. 17c gave It up to resume his trade of cabinet making, locating in Oxford, where he aud Mrs. Gath resided thereafter. Mr. Gath died In 18$6 at tho age of 7^ years.Mrs. Gath is survived by the following children: Mrs. J. H. I tooth ofCincinnati; Mrs. L. M. Crist of Thorntown, Ind., Mrs. Edwin Ellis of lt;)xford, Harry Lee Gath of ()xford, and Chailcs W. Gath of Hamilton. Aside from these children she is also survived by a brother, Thomas Tetley of Saratoga, Ind.: George Tetley, a brother, In Manchester, England, and Mrs. Ezra Seed, a sister, In Halifax, England, besides a number of pieces, nephews and grandchildren.Mrs. Gath was a life-long Methodist and a member of the M. E. church at Oxford. Her lifo was one continuous story of Christian love and devotion to her family and her friends.Tho funeral services will be held at Oxford at 10:30 o’clock Saturday morning. Interment Oxford cemetery.
