He left here at the iage of 18, and most of his life had lived in ; Brooklyn. :• He married Mildred Cirillo there-on October 24,1943. He served in the US Army and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Germany on Dec. 16, 1944./Mr. Schimcek retired in 1973 from his business, Tex’s Luncheonette in New York City. For many ^ears he issued a standing invitation to anyone from Weimar to visit him when they were in New York, and those'who did were treated to a grand tour.He was a member of American Legion Post 391, which awarded him a certificate in 1977 for 25 years of continuous membership. Legion members paid military tribute at-his graveside.In addition to his wife, survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Ulrich and Mrs. Selma Wanjura of Weimar and Mrs. Leona Thumann of Houston; and one brother, Charles Schimcek of Weimar. Three brothers, Norwin, Edmund and Bennie Schimcek, preceded him in death.Among those attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Thumann of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thumann and son of Dickinson, and Norwin Schimcek Jr. of San Antonio.
