RKIMONThe first reunion of the Samuel R. Page family'was heldat the home of Glen Page near Ladoga on Sept. 6th. There were , 81 relatives present.Samuel Robert Page was a desrendent of one of the oldest* families in Hendricks County. He was born August 15, 1860. a son of Jeremiah J. Page.The family name Page traces its name back to England. The , family was once connected with i nobihtv some members of which* were once pages to members of ‘ the Royal Family. Later onsome members of the family t were given titles and received i valuable concessions from the crown with the result that manyI of them become ImmenselyHE**► wealthv. There was said to be an estate of several million dollars left in England by the Page- family to which the American branch are justly entitled. In fact about 50 years ago a letter was sent from England to Samuel R. Page's father wanting him to send proof of inheritance. name and number of the ship they came over here on andthe date they sailed so that | estate could be settled as it is 1 the land on which the city ofLondon now stands. As the j Pages were all pretty well able ' to take care of themselves and thought it impossible to get that information no one cared to make an effort to do anything about it.Samuel R. Page was married to Rebecca E. Morphew April | 4. 1881. To this marriage were |born 6 children. Lona E. Jessie Elza. Lillie A., Glen, Paul and a girl, Bertha who died at the age of 8 years.The farm that Eliza Page,I widow of Lona E. Page, now ! lives on was the first farm Lona owned, the first farm his father owned and the first farm his grandfather owned.He was one of eleven children living today, Lillie, Glen, and Paul. There are 32 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchil-dren.It was voted to have the reunion again next year at the Milligan Park at Crawfordsville on Sunday before Labor Day.
