These reunions are being held to honor the life of Charles Maurer and wife, who moved from Pennsylvania in 1854 to a farm one mile west and one and one-half north of Wakarusa, where they resided until they went to their eternal home. Their children are Allen Monroe, William, Charles, Emaline Page and Barbara Lehman. Chas. Seitz family are also related, who moved to Indiana at the same time and were constant neighbors during life. Their children are the wives of Levi Steaiy, (deceased,) Amos Stealy, l)avid Shank, Gus Shank, Geo. Shaum, (deceased), Daniel Strope, Del. Kenner, Ed. Seitz, and John Seitz, (deceased.)Through marriages, the Jerre-miah Haun family and relatives have also joined the reunion.A sister of Chas. Maurer, who wTas the only member of his home that moved to -“Indiana, near Kouts, married Samuel Williamson, both deceased, had five children, whose descendants also meet with this reunion.The dinners of this reunion are always a big feature, it seems that each branch of the relationship tries to outdo the other, and there are real experts among, them in baking and cooking.
