Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stanley Sr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at the home of their son, Herbert Stanley Jr., 1434 Olive St.; Carthage.The former Viola Freeman and Stanley were married Sept. 16, 1928, in Carthage. In addition to their son, they also have a daughter, Donna (Mrs. Jerry) Turner of Honduras, Central America. They have five granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.Friends and relatives are invited to attend the open house. The couple request that gifts be omitted.
