Mr. and Mrs.Omstead are among the earlier settlers■of Hamilton county and have a wide acquaintance in this vicinity. Just fifty years ago today they were married in Ames. They moved to Webster City soon after and for many years resided upon their farm at Saratoga. After a long residence there, they moved to Tama and about three years ago returned to Webster City. Of the seven children all are present in the city today but one. This evening at the | j)$ home of their daughter, Mrs. B» C.„ I Mason, a 6 o’clock dinner will be served in their honor.Among the many o d 86ttlers in Hamilton county, whose ranks are growing thinner and thinner each year, Mr. and Mrs. Omstead are among the most highly esteemed and best fa known. Of a most genial disposition they are both of that class of people who make friends easily, Mr. Omstead is 73 years of age and Mrs, Omstead is 70. Both carry their years easily and in the sunset of life are better preserved Doth mentally and physically than many people much younger than they. Although having lived in both Ames and Tama, Mr. and Mrs. Omstead have ^ spout so many years of their lives in q, ® | Hamilton county that they have always spoken of Webster City as home. Their ?? I hosts of friends both in Hamilton county and eleowhere will join the Freeman-Tribune in wishing them many another happy year of married | life.
