Poe, Bettsville.While several diploma schools of nursing throughout the state are either closed or in the phasing-out process, Providence School of Nursing started a new class of 32 first-level students today for the 1970-71 school term.Following orientation, the new students were feted at a tea in the school lounge nearby. They will participate in an all-school outing today, after classes, at East Harbor State Park.In addition to the new first-year students, 32 junior students (last year’s freshmen) reported last Tuesday, and 27 senior students are presently on affiliation at St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, and Akron Children’s Hospital. Wilson, Caledonia.Wrong Plates, DUI Lead Man To JailA Sandusky man was charged early today with driving while under the influence of intoxicants and having improper plates on his car. He was placed in city jail under $625 bond.Police said they stopped a car driven by Harry L. McClusky Jr. 28, 2102 River Ave., on Cleveland Road near Farwell Street after it was observed crossing a double yellow line. McClusky was charged with having improper license plates when police learned that the plates on his car are registered to another vehicle.J mwWounded By GunRalph Himes, 53, whosp address was given as Patten Tract Road, was treated Saturday at Memorial Hospital for a self-inflicted gunshot wound to a finger, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s office. He was wounded when his .22 caliber revolver accidentally discharged.
