Former principal convicted of crimePHILLIPSBURG, Kan. lt;AP — A former middle school principal was convicted Wednesday of taking indecent liberties with a child.Jeffrey Anschutz, 36, pleaded no contest in Phillips County District Court to one count and the state dropped a second count. He had been arrested July 24 and charged with the two counts.The complaints said that during the month of June Anschutz did feloniously and willfully engage in an act of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16.Phillips County Attorney Dave Baumgartner said both counts involved the same child.District Judge Charles Worden disqualified himself from sentencing and refused to disclose the reason.
