Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Pugh Observe 61st AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. Lewis Pugh of Bel Air Drive are to celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary on Monday, Sept. 6. Mrs. Pugh is the former Stella DeLassus. The couple was married in Pa-toka, on Sept. 6, 1904. They have lived in Centralia since that time.He was employed by Dr. E. E. Fyke at Marion County Coal Co. until 1924 when he entered the oil business with Centralia Service And Oil Company as manager. He remained in this position until 1949. Since taking his retirement he has worked for the Hudelson Baptist Children’s Home, terminating his work this month.The Pughs have two sons. Lewis Wilbur of Peoria and John Edward of Centralia. They are both high school shop teachers. Susan and Dick Pugh of Centralia are their only grandchildren.Mr. and Mrs. Pugh will both celebrate their 85th birthdays in December.
