Both teams moved well In the third period, but there was no scoring. Thomasville had a drive halted at the Central 17 by a fumble, and Central advanced as far as the Thomasville 20, before Carney got into the act again with an intercepted pass.But action picked up again, as the final period got under way.It all started when Thomasville, after failing to move in two running plays from deep in its own end of the field, caught the Jacket defense flat-footed with a 43-yard Charles Lane quick-kick.But the boot was nullified when Central was called for off-sides. The Bulldogs took the penalty, made the first down, and advanced to their own 36 before trying thequick kick again.This time, however, the element of surprise was not there. The boot was blocked, and Central was in business at the Thomasville 38.Two Williamson to Lanigan passes—one for 25 yards, and another for 18, moved the ball to the seven, where Luxon fumbled, and a THS recovery killed the drive at the Bulldog three.
