1*DAZZLING BULLDOG AERIAL ATTACKV* •By KARL RICKEY* VT-E Sports EditorThomasville’s Bulldogs, better known for hard-nosed defense and a grind-tt-out attack than for raz-zle dazzle offense, threw EWay the book in a driving rain here last night, using dazzling punt returns, and a deadly accurate passing game to shatter city rival Central’s hopes for its first win in the series, 25-2, before a wet, capacitycrowd at Veterans Memorial Stadium.The Bulldogs' chief weapon, both in the aerial circus and the ‘home run’ style punt returns, was Junior quarterback Ronnie Carney. who did everything for the THS cause last night but carry the water bucket during time outs.For while the Central defense did a fairly effective jab of containing Thomasville runners from scrimmage, theywere helpless against Carney’spasses, and the precision blocking which three times sprung Bulldog punt returners for long: gains.Thomasville almost scored the first time a Bulldog touched the football when Junior halfback Charles Lane returned the opening kickoff 66 yards to the Central 12.But here thp Jackets got tough, and on fourth and one at the four, stopped halfback Rick Bradner short of first down yardage.Central, however, could not move either, and was forced to punt.
