Griggs, was solemnized at the Springhill Baptist Church. Friday. Aug. 24 at 7:30 p.m.Parents of the couple are Charles VV. Harp and Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Griggs, all of Cullman.Rev. Carl Johnson officiated before an altar covered with ivy and lighted by long white tapers Mrs. James Blair. Birmingham., presented the wedding music. She sang. “Oh, Perfect Love. “Whither Thou Goest” “The Lord’s Prayer.Candles were lighted by Miss Virginia Loworn, Cullman, and Joel Paschal and James Griggs.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length white Dutchess satin gown. Th» v-neckline featured pearl medallions with matching medallions over the points in the lonR sleeves. Her fingertip veil of imported Italian illusion was attached to a crown of pearls. She carried a white Bible, girt of the groom, topped with a white orchid. The bride’s gown was styled by Mrs. Robert Baker of Birmimrham. a friend of thebride.Mrs. David Griggs. Birmingham. served the bride as matron of honor. Mrs. James Griggs. Birmingham; Miss Becky Griggs. West Point; and Miss Kay D. Brock. Huntsville, served the bride as alter-iants. They wore identical gowns of orchid satin fashioned with bellshaped skirts and bandeaux with matching short circular veils They carried cascade bouquets of white feathered carnations tied with orchid ribbons.David Griggs, brother of the groom, was best man.Ushers were James Griggs Birmingham. Joel Paschal and Aubrey White, both of CullmanThe reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride.Miss Jane Keenum, Tuscuin-bia. kept the bride's book.Assisting with the serving were Misses Linda Paschale. Judy Chamber. Carolyn Payne. Carole Noneaker and Mesdames Marie Ixivvorn. Annie Puschael. Clyde Patterson, all of Cullman, and Mrs. Radra White, Huntsville.
