Martin Bickley, Sandusky. is the new airport office manager.Meanwhile the city of Port Clinton hopes to reach an agreement with Mr. Hersberger regarding settlement of claims which the city charges the former airline owes for back rent and landing fees.Runway Work UnderwayConstruction of a hardtop runway got underway at the airport Friday, and is being paid for from funds given to the airport committee by public subscription several years ago.Stone, donated by the Kelley Island Lime and Transport Company, is being hauled from the Marblehead quarries by city trucks and by trucks rented from tam-bert and Harger.Bulldozers and other city equipment made such rapid progress in excavating and the operation was running so smoothly early this week that Board of Public Utilities and Airport Board members contemplated immediate start of a 900-feet long East • West runway.The North - South runway is to he 2200-feet in length and 75-feet in width.
