Locol Lions Club Members HB. C. SpeakeSix Battle Creek Lions welcomed the newly-formed Marshall Lions club into the International Association of Lions clubs at a dinner meeting at the American LegionHome Tuesday.Harold Holmberg, president of i the Battle Creek club spoke brlef-( ly on “Being A Lion” and what , Lion’s activity has meant to him t ! over the years. “It has made me j* easier to. live with, both as a husband and father, and as a business . , man in city affairs,” he said.I i Other guests introduced by the I Marshall Lions club president, John Aldrich, were Wendell Doty,’ i Dean Murray, Howard Chapman,’. Charles Smith and Hoy Plant. Plant described the organizationof the Lions International and said that President Aldrich and Secretary Herb Eichstaedt were automatically on the zone committee by virtue of their position in the Marshall club.Membership activity was stressed by Aldrich and plans were forwarded for charter night September 29. Lipns, their ladies and guests will celebrate the initiation of Marshall’s first Lions club on that date.
