SCHOOL DAYS BEGIN—Rural schools in the county opened yesterday, about a week earlier than city schools. But there are compensations—the county kids get out earlier. The top photograph shows a few of the 23 students of the Blind School in the yard at recess yesterday afternoon. Their teacher, Mrs. Cornelia Walker, 420 Ninth Ave., is on the steps keeping track of things. The Hund School is six miles northwest of Leavenworth off highway 73. The lower photograph is of new first grade students at the school. In the front row at left is Sandra Hund and at right is' Virginia Heintzelman, Back row from left: Kay Jones, Billy Lingenfelser and Angela Hund.
