MR. AND MRS. JACKSON WILL OBSERVE 1 59TH WINDING ANNIVERSARY SUNDAYI ifty-ninth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Enos Sturgis Jackson, will be very quietly observed tomorrow, Sunday, September 4, at their home in Ohiopyle. A recent reunion and family gathering occasioned by the visit here during July of a son. Frank W. Jackson of Montclair, N. J., replaced the celebration which otherwise would have marked tomorrow’s anniversary.Mrs. Jackson formerly was Miss Clarissa Hailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bailey of near Oliiopyle. On September 4, 1873, she became the bride of Enos 9. Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jackson, Smithfleld, the wedding being solemnized by Rev. Brow n of Confluence in the home of the bride's parents at Whig Corner, j Reminiscing in contrast with these days oi modern speed, they recall how on their honeymoon tliey traveled In a spring wagon to Indian Creek and there attended sessions of the Indian Creek Baptist Association. On their vvlurn the couple w*ent to housekeeping near Oliiopyle where the bride-; groom was engaged in the lumber business.To this union were born niue children: Frank W. Jackson, Montclair, N. J.; Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson McNutt, Morgantown road, Unlontown; William Jackson. Wellersburg; Mrs. Lena Jackson Yoder, Uniontown; Mrs. Carrie Strickenburg, Cleveland, Oliio; Harry Jackson, Portland, Maine; Ellen Jackson, at home; Mrs. Alice Wagner, Uniontown; Irene Jackson, at home.The Jacksons are among Fayette county’s most widely known and highly respected residents. During the greater part of his life, Mr. Jackson has boen engaged in the lumber and real estate business, having had until his retirement a number of years ago, an active Interest in extensive timber tracts in the mountainous section of the county. Among his talents may be included (lie art of rhyming, several poems under his name having been published from time to time in this paper. /On their arrival at this important milestone both are enjoying life to the fullest.
