50th Wedding Anniversary Celebrated By The PerduesMr. and Mrs. E. Ballard Perdue of Flovilla were honorecs August 22nd at a 50th wedding anniversary celehration tendered them by their children. The couple was married August 14. 1926 by Rev. T. J. Thaxton and have made Butts County their home since their marriage.The Fellowship Hall of the Jackson Church of the Nazarone was decorated befitting a Golden Wedding celebration with both the refreshment table and gift table overlaid with ivory cloths. The gift table held, inaddition to numerous gifts, a golden candelabra with white tapers and a gold tray of congratulatory cardsThe center of attraction proved to be the refreshment table which held the beautiful anniversary cake. The massive cake was embossed with white wedding bells and gold roses and topped with the traditional golden “50”. At the opposite end of the table was the punch bowl of golden punch and centering the table was a massive arrangement of daisies, carnations and tuberoses with four gold tapers in * silver urn which carried out the anniversarytheme. Mints and nuts completed the table's decor.Serving at the refreshment table were Misses Sybil Perdue. Rose Campbell and Dee Perdue and Mrs. Pamela H. Perdue, all grandaughters of the Perdues.The guest register was presided over by Miss Edith Cook, also a granddaughter. • The union of Mr. and Mrs. Perdue resulted in four children. Max Perdue of Flovilla. Mrs. Marie P. Campbell and Mrs. Ioline P. Cook of Jackson and Winfred Perdue of Jonesboro,. They have seven grandchildren.
