Bogan Naiied Managing EditorAfter Holbrook's ResignationAllen Bogan has been named managing editor of the Denton Rec-ord-Chronicle succeeding Raymond Holbrook who resigned the positionthis past week.The appointment of Bogan, who has been a member of the newspaper’s editorial staff since 1948, was announced by Riley Cross, editor and publisher of the Record -Chronicle, following Holbrook’s resignation Wednesday.Reared and educated in Dallas, Bogan began his newspaper career in 1934 with the Dallas Journal as a general and sports reporter. From 1938 until 1940, he served aspolice reporter, feature writer and assistant sports editor of the Dallas Dispatch-Joumal. In 1941 hewas named sports editor of th# Dallas Journal, a post he held until he volunteered for the U S Navy in 1942j During World War II he served in the Navy’s publfc information section and minesweeper service.Following his release from military service in 1945, he was sports writer and state editor tor the Dallasiimes-tieraid. €In 1S47 he bought and moved to a stock farm near the Dallas Highway in the Corinth Community southeast of Denton.
