Page TwoWecTTor Fifty Years,Prank Rubvs Honored At Open I louse EventMit and Mrs. Frank Ruby, south of town, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, August 29 by holding open house from 2 till 5 o’clock. iAll nine children of the couple ; were with them for the occasion. They Included Paul of Ottumwa; •Joe of Mt Pleasant; Harold of Hardin, Montana, Mrs Clarence j Brad field and Mrs. Ralph S toots of Stockport; Mrs. Ralph Martin of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and from Fairfield, Mrs Omar Cathey, John and Dale Ruin One hundred other relatives and friends called at the Ruby home which was beautifully decorated !with garden flowers. iFrank Ruby and Jessie Chezum were married August 31, 1898 in * the home of the Baptist minister, the lute Rev. Jonathan Lee inHenry county. Mrs. Martha Litton, jof Lockridge, who was maid olhonor at the wedding fifty years j ago. was at the celebration Sunday. ;In addition to the nine children the Ruby clan consists of 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildrenA family dinner was served to 37relatives at the Hotel Turner Sunday noon, alter whuh the group I returned to the Ruby home. Pictures were taken and visiting was enjoyed. A three tiered (.ike was baked by Mrs. Bradfield. The individual cakes served with the ice cream were baked by the otherdaughters, Mrs Cathey and Mrs Martin.Mrs. Cathey greeted the guests as they arrived; Mrs. Martin hadcharge of the guest hook and two granddaughters, Mrs I jester Buch-holz of Agency and Mrs. Kathryn Nelson presided at the serving table.Mr. and Mrs. Ruby received many gifts and messages of congratulation during the weekend.
