GLAZIER GOLDEN WEDDINGCelebrated Yesterday at Belpre Lived in Ames Townsh pBelpre, October 30.—A notableevent took place here today when i Senator and Mrs. A. W. Glazier celebrated their golden wedding anniver-f ry.The parents of Senator Glazier wereamong the first settlers of Ames township, where many years of his life were spent, and where he is well known by all the olderc itizens.(There wore six sons in the Glazier ! familv and Senator Glazier is theWm*-only one who has the distinction of celebrating the fiftieth anniversary ofhis marriage.After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Glazier lived twenty-five years in Ames township where he was one of rite leading men of the county both in the church and the state.Coming to Belpre, they have livedhere just twenty-five years. Always an enterprising, able and public spirited citizen, Senator Glazier has taken an active part in the affairs of his county and lie has represented thePresbyterian church at the general assembly. In 1898 he had an attack of paralysis, since which time lie has been disabled from taking an active part in life, but he walks with ease, attends church regularly, reads the papers and enjoys talking, especially witli his old friends. He has held many subordinate positions, such as justice of the peace, notary public, land appraiser, a member of the boardof the Ohio State university and intin* fall of 1885 lie was elected to rep-i resent his district (11) in t lie senate of Ohio, serving in that capacity with great acceptance to tho people. lie' lias many letters from President Me-*jKinley and other statesmen testifying to his faithfulness and efficiency.It is worthy of note, that his father was born in Washington county, N.I Y., his mother in Washington conn-ty, Pa., and he and his family live in Washington county, Ohio.Born November 13, 1833 he was I married in Millficld, to Miss Mary I Hyde the daughter of Dr. and Mrs.' Hvde of Milltield.
