VAI WV I IV ft L7ft ft ■ tMr. Elwing continued in the archi tectural business alone.Valley Fair WorkerMr. Elwing was widely known for hw work in connection with the Valley Mid-Winter Fair.During the early days of the Fair, and up to 1928, he designed the floats which took part in the spectacular parades of the Fair, and worked with Mrs. S R. Jennings of Harlingen on the pageants designing the costume#.Mr. Elwing had, during his early days, made a thorough study of the Swedish mythology, and when he came to the Valley his interest carried him into a study of the Mayan and Aztec religions. E. Elwing, auditor of The Herald. His last architectural contract was the nurses home now being built in conjunction with the Mercy Hospital building.Survivors include his son and one daughter, Mrs. Vera E. Welch, formerly of San Benito and now of Mission. There is also a niece. Mrs. A P Powers, living in California.Services are to be held at theThompson Mortuary building in Harlingen, which Mr. Elwing designed. with interment beside the body of Mrs. Elwdng in the Harlingen cemetery. Rev. Herbert McDermott of Donna will officiate, assisted by Rev. Flynn Long of Harlingen.Pallbearers will be Julian Ashheim, A L. Brooks. Cecil Carruth. John Challes. S. Finley Ewing, and Wm.
