A Social.Ens. 1Ii;uam:—Please allow mo to say,1 through the columns of your paper, that last Saturday is a day to he remembered bythe many friends and relatives of Josephj Shear, of Richland township, who met at his residence to celebrate theolth anniversary of his birth. Mr. Shear was a soldier in the late war, faithfully discharging his duty until near its close and as a citizen,commands the respect of those with whom! he is associated. After a sumptuous dinner, of which upwards of fifty persons par-I took, a game of hall was indulged in, seor-■ ing a tie at the close. After the crowd was j comfortably seated, appropriate speeehes ; were made, such as would hind neighbors ! and friends in a close union. After making I .Mr. Shear the recipient of many nice and well selected presents, all returned to their homes feeling that it. had been a day well spent. W. S, E.
