Bruce, re- j j siding near King Station, celebratedM .j their golden wedding Wednesday, Oct.| 18, having been married fifty years that \ day,rj Mr. and Mrs. Braes were married inIj Crawford countv in 1S45. A short time | after they came to Gibson eounry and | have resided near Kings Station or 1 Princeton ever since.j*| Mrs. Bruce was Miss Sarah Reynolds j * ** |I and was born in Ohio, She is 70 years | of age, while her husband is GO. They j j are among the county’s most highly es- | j teemed citizens.| There are eight of the Bruce children | all of whom are married except George j M. Bruce. Thirt-v-five grand children j | and eight great grand children.; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce celebrated the!5 i| event by giving a sumptuous dinner to itj the neighbors and friends. There was ’ a large attendance in spite of the rainy j ' weather, there being between forty and j ! tifty people present. There were many j people disappointed as there were about j j sixty guests prepared to come out fromI Princeton, also from Owensville and I! j1 Posey vilie. Thev received manv beau- ! j * *■ j tiful presents, some of them were a set |j; of solid oak bottom dining chairs, a*j beautiful dining table, a gold watch ► | each from G. M. Brace. Thev also got • watch chains, a gold ash trav for Mr, Bruce and a gold pin tray and ink well[1 tor Mrs. Bruce. Mrs. Anna Eliza Hud |j t;; eii?on gave them 5.00 gold pieces and j ‘I several other smaller articles, j.; The children are Mrs. B. F. Wiley, | I ; Mrs. George Straw!) of Snakeruu, Mrs, I t K. J. Welman of Ft. Branch.
